Working with BMW, Harvard brains are being asked to dream up innovative housing based on the design principles of a new “elastic skin" technology developed by BMW's Munich-based Group Design studio led by Chris Bangle.

Bangle's team has recently produced a prototype car, the Gina light visionary model, with an “elastic skin" instead of a sheet metal body. This flexible material means a lightweight car that's easy on fuel, easy to repair and able to adopt different shapes inside and out.

Based on the BMW Z4 roadster, Gina is a rather beautiful thing, with doors that appear to open organically rather than mechanically and an interior that feels more like clothing than motoring hardware. Gina stands for “geometry and function in N — that is, an infinite number — of adaptations".

FLEISHMAN-HILLARD Kuala Lumpur clinched the gold category “Campaign of the Year" for the second year running with its “BMW Shorties: Activating the Indie Film Spirit" campaign at the Malaysia PR Awards held on Dec 12.

The event is organised annually by the Public Relations Consultants' Association of Malaysia. In last year's Malaysia PR awards, Fleishman-Hillard's “Tell Someone" entry for client Merck Sharp & Dohme took home the “Campaign of the Year" title. This year, its campaign won “Best Use of Digital", a title it also won at the Asia-Pacific PR Awards last month.

A judge has essentially put the Northwest chapter of the American Lung Association out of business after the chapter got into hot water for giving its Seattle headquarters and $600,000 to different, newly created charity. In an order yesterday, King County Superior Court Judge Regina Cahan (KAY'-han) said the American Lung Association was likely to win its claim that the regional affiliate breached its contract. The judge issued a preliminary injunction that forbids the Northwest chapter and the newly created charity from using American Lung Association donor lists or spending money except for legal fees.
